Today I pity the ground squirrels around here as their burrows are probably full of water from all this heavy rain. My favorite squirrel is the Kaibab with the big white fluffy tail I see at Grand Canyon. They are like nothing else.

WooHoo...I'll send Mac out to appreciate them right away. ;-)

Hole I adore squirrels! I have a few on my father's side, and a whole handful of them for patients.
I admire their cheek - and their abilities to get into any sort of bird feeder.

I know a former neighbor who will *not* be celebrating. ;)

This post lends itself to all kinds of commets as you well know! That squirrel is sure on the move. I hope he finds his nuts! (OOPs! I couldn't help myself!)

Love/hate relationship with them here.
Cute.
Destructive.

Require temporary reductions in population from time to time.
Never learned to eat them like so many around here.

Judging by their waistlines the squirrels in this neighborhood are well appreciated!

I live in a semi-rural neighborhood where red-shouldered hawks keep down their numbers. Once in a while I get to see them doing so.
