Skywatch Friday - Retreating Storm

Bluff Spring Fen - June 21, 2008

Last Saturday, I feared that the field session of my butterfly ecology course would be ruined by a thunderstorm. Just as the class was scheduled to begin, the sky began to clear, and offered this very dramatic view of the retreating storm.

See more Skywatch goodness at Wiggers World.

Perfect one for SWF! Which reminds me the quote... "we all live under the same sky, but we don't all have the same horizon".... Mine's up too hope you can drop by. Happy Weekend!

I like the shot, but I bet it would really be amazing if it would enlarge quite a bit!

I'm back ...
Oh no, cried blog world ... he's back!

But guess what, I'm so happy.
If I didn´t rejoin SWF I would never have the chance to see this great photo!

I love the juxtaposition of the green against the dark gray in that shot.

I am so dissapointed -- The butterflies are in severe decline here, what with the new development and all (filthy carpetbagger developers). I even built a nice native plant garden for them to visit, but I've seen maybe three leps all spring. It's waaay past time to move from this horrible place.

As for the sky shots, here is one of my favorites from the Gulf of Mexico.

Ciao!

Thanks to all who stopped by for Skywatch. Within an hour and a half of that photo, the sky was completely clear.
