Toilet Spiders

This afternoon I will be talking with The History Channel, debunking the urban legend of toilet spiders for a (ha ha) webcast. It just doesn't get any better than this.

what about the infamous barking spider?

roger- spiders that you occasionally see around toilets (especially outdoors) are not an urban myth. The highly venomous toilet spider (arachnidia gluteus) is.

spo- barking spiders are tarantulas- your least favorite kind. I'll spare you from having to see a photo.

Good Doctors, my 12-year old step-grandson is beginning to have an interest in biology and I've encouraged him to read this blog, among others, and its comments. The "media whore" comment really doesn't seem appropriate for a general audience, regardless of age.

I'd've sent you both a private email instead of posting a comment here, but was unable to find an address for either of you. Please don't take this personal; it's not.
